Do you dream of summers on the beach or life on the ocean wave? Why not have both!
Portobello Sailing Club and the Scottish Volleyball Association Beach Commission present the opportunity to have a go at beach volleyball and sailing all in one fun packed, sea-side day!
What?: Portobello Junior Beach Festival
Where?: Portobello Beach [EH15, between Belfield St and Bath St]
When?: Saturday 4th June, 2011
How long?: 9.30am – 3pm
Who?: Young people from S1 to S4
Cost?: £10 per child
There are 24 spaces available for young people (S1 – S4) to enjoy a 2 hour session of volleyball PLUS a 2 hour taster sailing session*. No previous experience required. Participants will be organised into groups of 12 and will enjoy one sport 10am – 12pm and the other 1pm – 3pm.
*Sailing spaces are strictly limited to 24 and will be allocated on a first come first basis. One or two back-to-back beach volleyball sessions offer an opportunity to involve more participants. (Single session £5)
What else do I need?: A change of clothes

Junior membership of both the Scottish Volleyball Association and Portobello Sailing and Kayaking Club is included in the duel sport participation fee.
This event is part of the Sea and Sand Series – a new collaboration between Scottish Volleyball and the RYA Scotland, celebrating sport at the seaside.
